Make a positive difference in the lives of students by teaching chess in local schools.
Keystone Chess Academy partners with elementary and middle schools in Southeastern Pennsylvania to deliver structured, high-quality chess enrichment programs. We are seeking dependable, thoughtful individuals who enjoy teaching students and helping them grow in focus, strategy, and confidence.
Curriculum, lesson plans, and training are provided. Coaches are expected to lead with professionalism, consistency, and strong classroom presence.
Compensation:

$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated teaching ability
You may be a strong fit if you:

Enjoy working with children (ages 5–12)

Have a solid understanding of chess fundamentals (rated experience preferred but not required)

Communicate clearly and patiently

Are reliable and professional

Are available during after-school hours on one or more weekdays

Have experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, etc.) — helpful but not required
What coaching typically involves:

Arriving at the school on time and setting up materials

Teaching a short structured mini-lesson (~20 minutes)

Supervising guided practice games

Supporting a positive, respectful learning environment

Managing cleanup and student dismissal
Requirements:

Ability to pass required background checks

Reliable transportation

Strong communication and classroom presence

Consistent availability for the full duration of the program session (6-12 weeks)
